Kaleidoscope Youth Center

The Financial Literacy Program Facilitator will have the opportunity to lead implementation of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center’s Financial Literacy Program. Facilitator will work closely with the Assistant Director ~ Operations in implementing the professionally designed financial literacy curriculum. Students will learn personal finance basics in this innovative and new program. Financial Literacy Facilitator should schedule, and lead the financial literacy program on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

Tasks and responsibilities include:
# Attending workshops on facilitating the financial program.
# Requesting materials necessary for program implementation.
# Communication with parents of student participants.
# Organization and scheduling of an end-of-program celebration night.
# Special event planning and field experience organization.
# General Program Organization and Administration.
# Recruitment of additional college student facilitators.
# Acquisition of WIFI enabled computers for student research.

The Science Program Facilitator will have the opportunity to lead implementation of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center’s Great Science Program. Facilitator will work closely with the Assistant Director ~ Operations in implementing the professionally designed science curriculum. Science Facilitator should schedule, and lead the science program on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

# Organization and scheduling of an end-of-program Science Night Event

The Art Program Facilitator will have the opportunity to lead implementation of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center’s Art Program. Facilitator will work closely with the Assistant Director ~ Operations in implementing the professionally designed art curriculum. Art Program Facilitator should schedule, and lead the art program on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

# Organization and scheduling of an end-of-program Art Night Event

The Music Program Facilitator will have the opportunity to lead implementation of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center’s Music Program. Facilitator will work closely with the Assistant Director ~ Operations in implementing the professionally designed music (singing, lyric writing and instrumental) curriculum. Music Program Facilitator should schedule, and lead the music program on a weekly, bi-weekly or tri-weekly basis.

Tasks and responsibilities include:
# Attending music training workshops on facilitating the music program.
# Purchasing materials necessary for art projects.
# Communication with parents of student participants
# Organization and scheduling of an end-of-program Music Night Event
# Special event planning and field experience organization
# General Program Organization and Administration

PURPOSE OF JOB: To support the mission of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center by assisting in the daily operations of the center, and to be a helpful and supportive presence for Kaleidoscope students who visit the center for to participate in engaging programming and receive academic assistance, each weekday from 3:30 pm – 7:30 pm. Volunteers are vital to the organization in order to maintain a high level of service to our students and their families.

DUTIES MAY INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
* Consistently and punctually report to selected shift
* Attend brief orientation session
* Data Entry
* Working with youth who visit the center daily
* Pick-up and drop-off of students on field trip and other outside of center experiences.
* Communicate regularly with assigned supervisor as to concerns, issues, or ideas arising from work at the center. Ask questions-do not be afraid, we need your assistance
* Answer telephones and direct calls (if appointed)
* Assist in keeping Kaleidoscope Center neat and tidy
* Dress Comfortably
* Uphold Kaleidoscope Center rules and policies regarding work with youth.
* Assist with group programming (if appointed)
* Create and lead innovative and creative youth programming based on individual talents and skills (if interested)

PURPOSE OF JOB: To support the mission of the Kaleidoscope Youth Center by assisting in the technological operations of the center, to be a helpful and supportive presence for Kaleidoscope students who visit the center for to participate in engaging programming and receive academic assistance, each weekday from 3:30 pm – 6:30 pm (January – April 1) & 3:30 pm - 7:30 pm (April 1 – June 1), and most importanty keep the public up-to-date on Kaleidoscope advances via our dynamic website. You are vital to the organization in order to maintain a high level of service to our students and their families, and to promote our programs and services to the community.
