Global Youth Service Day

The goals of Global Youth Service Day are: a. To MOBILIZE youth to identify and address the needs of their communities through service. b. To SUPPORT youth on a life-long path of service, learning, and civic engagement. c. To EDUCATE the public, the media, and policymakers about the year-round contributions of young people as community leaders Youth Service America (YSA), an international resource center, launched Global Youth Service Day in 1988 (formerly National Youth Service Day). Youth Service America now partners with the Global Youth Action Network (GYAN) to reach communities around the world. YSA administers and provides oversight of U.S. partnerships and collaborates with the National Youth Leadership Council and presenting sponsor, State Farm Companies Foundation. GYAN administers the international partnerships.

Description
HVAF is requesting volunteers to help with outside beautification projects on Saturday April 24th from 10am-2pm. Projects include cleaning windows, sweeping sidewalks, raking leaves, etc.
