Computer Aide

Starts: August 1st, 2009

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Description
Computer Aides assist patrons with basic computer questions including word processing, internet troubleshooting, and unemployment filing. Volunteer must show a superior knowledge of basic operations, Internet use, and Microsoft Office. Volunteer must have good communication skills and be comfortable working in a busy service environment.
Notes / Special Requirements
Age: 18+ Preferrable if volunteer is available on Sundays from 1-5

Teen Advisory Board

Starts: September 14th, 2009

Volunteers must be at least 12 years old.

Description
GPL’s Teen Advisory Board is made up of teens who assist and support Teen Services. Members plan and promote exciting programs, participate in special projects, discuss books, music, movies and websites. Membership looks great on resumes and college applications. Refreshments are served at every meeting. Teens make ideas happen!

Groundskeeper

Starts: April 30th, 2010

Ends: August 31st, 2010

Groups can volunteer together at this opportunity.

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

Description
Help us keep the grounds of Greenwood Public Library clean and tidy! We need your help! As spring and summer approach, the library will be offering programs outside. The groundskeeper will assist the library in picking up trash, pulling weeds, watering flowers, and completing any other general outdoor cosmetics to the Library's lot. An hour a week makes all the difference!
Notes / Special Requirements
Must be able to work independently. This position requires some bending and stooping for prolonged periods.
