The urgent mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness, Inc. (FFB) is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher syndrome, and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.

Set Up & Break Down Crew

Groups can volunteer together at this opportunity.

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Description
Our 2nd Annual VISIONWALK will be held at the Indiana School for the Blind on October 11, 2008. The goal of this walk is raise funds to donate to the Foundation Fighting Blindness to help find a cure for retinal degenerative diseases, including Macular Degeneration, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Stargardt's Disease, etc.

(10-20) Set Up & Break Down Crew: Volunteers will help set up all tables, sponsor banners and kilometer signs, refreshments, etc and break down all areas as well. Requires 8 AM arrival. and approximate departure of Noon.

Walker Check-In Volunteers

(6) Walker Check-In Volunteers: Volunteers will be in the area where walkers will turn in donations when they first arrive. Volunteers will collect checks, count total, secure in donation envelope, and record walker information. Requires 8 AM arrival. and approximate departure of 10:30 AM.

Accounting Volunteer

Starts: October 11th, 2008

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Description

(3) Accounting Volunteer: "Runners" will be needed to transport the money turned in by walkers to the designated secure area when the money will be counted. Requires 8:30 AM arrival and approximate departure at Noon.

T-Shirt Table

(2) T-Shirt Table: Volunteers will stay at the table where walkers who have raised $100 or more in donations will receive commemorative t-shirts. Volunteers will hand out raffle tickets to qualifying walkers and distribute t-shirts. Requires 8:30 AM arrival. and approximate departure of 10:30 AM.

Refreshments

Trail Volunteers

Event Photographer

Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

(1) Event Photographer: The photographer's main tasks include taking general walk day pictures of volunteers, walkers, and dignitaries in action, and taking group pictures of the teams participating in the Walk. Requires 8:00 AM arrival and approximate departure of Noon.

DJ
