Substance Abuse Prevention Program

Description
JCCASA will be providing a community-wide substance abuse prevention program on March 9th at Whiteland High School to address the severity of drug use in our county. Volunteers needed to provide assistance with structured, prevention-related activities for children, ages 5-12. Programming will be coordinated by JCCASA. Volunteers will be needed from 4:30 PM-9:30 PM on March 9th. A brief volunteer meeting prior to date of event will be scheduled at a later date.
Notes / Special Requirements
Willingness to work with children and dedication to educating youth on the dangers of substance abuse.

Johnson County Youth Council---ACHE Program

Description
The Johnson County Youth Council consists of teens from all of the county's school corporations. This organization meet monthly to discuss the prevalence of substance abuse in county teens and ways to educate peers on the dangers of substance abuse. Every spring, the Youth Council produces the ACHE program (Alcohol Choices Hurt Everyone), which is mock car crash skit and is utilized to show the dangers of alcohol and drug use. Volunteers are needed to act as narrating tour guides, set and costume design, and background actors. The ACHE program will be held on April 22, 2010 at Whiteland High School.
