Clerical Assistance

Starts: March 1st, 2009

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Description
Please consider helping out for 2-4 hours on a weekly/bi-weekly basis at the Family Place (38th and Keystone area)with general clerical assistance: copying, filing, shredding, and special projects. The PEACE, WISE and Passages programs need you.

Children's Shelter Arts and Crafts and other Activities Volunteer

Groups can volunteer together at this opportunity.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Description
Sign up to help with arts and crafts, music, games, story time, or some other special activity on Saturdays from 10:15am or 3:15pm at the Family Support Center Children's Shelter. This is a good volunteer opportunity for a small group of several individuals who wish to brighten the day of the children in the shelter.

Volunteer Resources Intern

Starts: March 1st, 2009

Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.

Description
Children's Bureau volunteers are dedicated to improving the quality of life for children in our community. Some volunteers help with child care in the crisis shelter, while others serve as mentors or tutors. Some help with parties, arts and crafts projects, special activities/events, Project Safe Place, or fundraising, while others assist with clerical tasks or other miscellaneous chores. The Volunteer Resources department screens all potential volunteers, provides the connectivity between the volunteer and the program staff, tracks volunteer activity, and provides volunteer staff for special events

1. Be on time for all scheduled sessions 2. Complete Children’s Bureau requirements for Indirect Contact Volunteers 3. Participate in a Service Commitment meeting 4. Maintain communication with staff liaison as necessary 5. Filing Assistance for CCDF

Starts: March 1st, 2009

Description
Did you know that we process over 10,000 families for childcare funding each year? As you can imagine this program generates LOTS of paperwork. Not to mention what happens to the files when the program is audited! We need your help! If you (and some friends) would be available for 1/2 a day per week to help with this project please let us know!
