Lungs In Motion - Walk Team Captains

Description
Lungs In Motion is the American Lung Association of Indiana’s annual fundraising event that bring Hoosiers together in the fight against lung disease. On a beautiful summer night at White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis we rally, walk, and celebrate in order to raise more money for lung disease research. This year, we need your help!

Team Captains are the leader of a fundraising team. They help organize the team, get them registered online and helps them fundraise. Team captains will set goals for the members and find fun ways to achieve them.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Attending kick-off luncheon and making a commitment as to how many team members you plan to recruit and an amount you hope to raise with your team
• Work with coordinator at the American Lung Association of Indiana to start team building and fund raising
• Write fundraising letter or use our webpage to email a message about your participation to family, friends, co-works and business associates
• Help team members to write fundraising letter
• Communicate regularly with your team members about building the team and doing fundraising
• Attend Lungs In Motion event

Health Fair Volunteer

Starts: March 1st, 2009

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Description
Staffing a booth includes setting up and tearing down displays and literature, keeping the table stocked with information, greeting individuals that come to the table, and help them find information that may be of use. Health Fair Volunteers can NOT give out medical advice, but can give out our 1-800 number to help those needing medical help.
Notes / Special Requirements

This volunteer needs to be friendly, outgoing and have great people skills. Customer service skills are a plus. All volunteers must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

Time commitment is flexible. Volunteers will be emailed a list of upcoming health fairs and can sign up for the ones that work best for them. Some orientation and training on available materials and frequently ask questions is required before attending a health fair. Volunteers must also have signed a volunteer agreement and job description.

Volunteer "blogger"

Starts: March 1st, 2009

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Description
Volunteer "blogger" will help create, update, and maintain a regular volunteer blog that can be used on the ALA-IN's website, MySpace page, and other electronic formats. Blog would promote, inform, entertain, and provide a platform for the American Lung Association of Indiana's programs & services.
Notes / Special Requirements
Need creative, web savvy individual who has a interest in electronic media and a background in communications, journalism, and/or writing. Should be self-directed and able to work independently. Can work from home or within office.

Office/administrative support

Starts: March 1st, 2009

Volunteers must be at least 14 years old.

Description
Office volunteers will assist the American Lung Association of Indiana by working with staff in the office on a regular basis. The work will include a variety of special projects such as mailings, writing thank you letters, and proof-reading.

Duties include:
Working with the database
Entering account information
Registering participants into events
Pulling reports
Correcting individual records
Helping with mailings
Addressing thank you letters to donors
Typing labels for envelopes
Back-up for answering phones and directing calls to appropriate personnel
Other tasks may be assigned
